The January 6th, 2021, Insurrection was based on a BIG LIE. A political lie is an attempt to trick a large group into believing something major, which will likely be contradicted by some information the group already possesses or by their common sense. When the lie is of sufficient magnitude it may succeed due to the group’s reluctance to believe that an untruth on such a grand scale would indeed be concocted.
As we along with the majority of the country, watched in horror as the Insurrection unfolded, we were angry at the misinformation that created the BIG LIE. This deception helped lead to the attack of the Capitol that we all witnessed in real time. As of this publication, the Republican Party is still attempting to control the narrative and act as though January 6th was a peaceful protest.
This publication is a historical timeline of some of the events that led up to and became a coup attempt by the former president. The entire country was a witness to these events as they took place. This was a dark day for our democracy and a warning for the future of our republic.

Benjamin Franklin was asked after the Constitutional Convention in 1787, “Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?” With no hesitation whatsoever, Franklin responded, “A republic, if you can keep it.”
